How do we get from Thessaloniki Airport (SKG) to Kallithea?

There are a few simple options for getting from SKG to Kallithea:

£ – Shared Shuttle (HolidayTaxis / similar)
Affordable shared transfers, departing from outside the Arrivals Hall (Terminal 1). Good value for solo travellers or couples.

££ – Private Transfer / Taxi
You can pre-book a private transfer, take a taxi from the airport rank, or use the transfer arranged as part of a package holiday. Journey time is usually 45–60 minutes.

£££ – Hire Car
Car hire is available at the airport through all major brands and comparison sites. A good option if you’d like flexibility during your stay.

Is the wedding on the beach?

Yes — the ceremony will take place on the beach itself, so expect warm sunshine, soft sand and a beach party atmosphere. Feel free to bring sunglasses, a hat or anything that helps you stay comfortable.

The ceremony is the only part of the day where you’ll be on the sand. After that, we’ll move into the open-air restaurant area for the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations, so you won’t be on the beach all day.

What should I wear?

Although it’s a beach wedding in June, it’s still very much a wedding — so we would love you to dress up.

For arrival, please keep in mind there is a steep 500m descent from the taxi drop-off point down to Agora Beach. You may want to wear comfortable shoes for the walk and change into your wedding shoes once you’re there.

During the ceremony you’ll be on the sand, so footwear is completely up to you: stay in your shoes, switch to flip-flops, or go barefoot and enjoy it.

Bring suncream, and if you feel the cold, a light layer for later in the evening — though it usually stays warm throughout.

How do we get to Agora Beach?

There is a local taxi rank in the centre of Kallithea, about a 4-minute walk from Ellin Hotel (look out for Giro-Giro and Blu Bar — both are nearby landmarks). Taxis can also be booked directly through the hotel reception. The drive to Agora Beach takes under 10 minutes and typically costs around €10. Local taxi numbers will be added closer to the time.

How do we get home?

Taxis can be pre-booked or arranged when needed.

Can we bring pushchairs/prams?

There is a fairly steep descent — and ascent — to get down to Agora Beach, so please keep this in mind if you’re bringing a pushchair. The beach bar and restaurant area itself is flat and accessible once you reach it, and pushchairs can be used around the top floor without issue.

What’s the weather like in June?

It can be hot. Expect temperatures of 25°C and above, with plenty of sunshine throughout the day. Suncream definitely recommended.

Will there be Greek dancing?

To call it Greek dancing will probably be an insult to our hosts.… however, it depends how many cocktails are involved.

Will James cry?

Almost definitely.

What time should we arrive / does the party finish?

Final wedding timings will be confirmed shortly.

Are there any planned Wedding activities happening during the week?

We’re incredibly grateful that you’re choosing to spend part of your summer holiday with us to celebrate the wedding. We don’t want to take over everyone’s week, but as your unofficial tour guides – and with a fair few trips to Kallithea under our belt – we’ve got a good idea of where everyone will have the most fun.

There will likely be a few optional plans during the week, such as a big group meal, chilled beach days, livelier beach-bar days, and other relaxed get-togethers. Nothing is mandatory, and you’re free to dip in and out as you like.

We’ll share plans, timings and ideas in the Wedding WhatsApp group, so let us know via the RSVP if you’d like to be added. We want this to be a holiday to remember for everyone.
